UVA Rays Can Reach You Through Your Car Window

UVA Rays Can Reach You Through Your Car Window

Learn How to Protect Yourself from Harmful UV Rays While on the Road

You’re all excited

You’ve got the job you’ve always wanted.

The only downside, you’ll be spending hours behind the wheel of your car while you commute to work.

And here in California, that means a lot of exposure to harmful UVA rays that will penetrate through your glass and deep into your skin.

Those rays can silently accelerate the aging process and cause wrinkles and even skin cancer while you are behind the wheel of your car.

Or even a passenger.

Wearing sunglasses are great at protecting against glare while driving, which means better visibility.

But sunglasses don’t block those damaging UVA rays.

And spending, on average, ten hours a week commuting which doesn’t include any errands to run, our family outings, that’s a lot of time behind the wheel of a car exposed to UVA rays.

My Car Was My Office

I WAS ELATED when I got the job as a sales rep for a media magazine. It meant I had a three-city territory of businesses I would work with, trying to get them to advertise in my company’s magazine.

I was on the road eight hours a day, five days a week, exposed to the sun while behind the wheel of my car.

I would put a sunshade on my window to block the bright sun from blinding my vision as I tried to do my paperwork, but that darkened the inside of my vehicle making it harder to see.

Window Film Can Really Make a Difference

And let’s not forget about how hot it would get inside my car. I’d have to keep the engine running so I could crank up the air conditioner which didn’t seem to cool down my car.

I’d always feel conscious of sweat stains on the back of my blouse when I introduce myself to a potential new client.

Then one day, I called upon a tint shop in the hope of getting them to advertise in the magazine.

The owner was receptive to advertising, and he explained the benefits of applying window film to me.

He told me how car window film could change the authentic look of a car.

And how it can improve visibility by reducing the glare from the sun’s rays during the day.

How it can block the glow from bright headlights at night.

And when he talked about how window film blocked UV rays and prevented heat buildup inside a car, I blurted out, “Can I schedule an appointment?”

BENEFITS OF WINDOW FILM

  • Interior protection from aging
  • Increased privacy
  • Blocks over 99% of harmful UVA and UVB rays
  • Rejects 98% heat rejection keeping your car cooler
  • Glare reduction
  • Shatter-resistant technology

That tint shop got a new customer that day. Me!

I couldn’t believe how many years I’d spent behind the wheel of a car without adding window film as protection.

I made my appointment, and the next day, I was back at the shop getting my windows tinted, even my windshield.

I loved it!

It looked like a new car, and boy, what a difference was applying window film made to my driving experience.

It has been one of the best and most intelligent decisions I’ve ever made.

My only regret is not applying window film much sooner.

Damage UVA Rays Can Cause

It was too late for me. The sun had already damaged my skin.

I already had an ugly sunspot on my left cheek from spending time unprotected from UVA rays in my car.

Even though I always wore make-up that included a foundation, it didn’t stop those harmful UVA rays from attacking my skin and causing a brown spot on my face.

No matter how many bottles of serums I’ve bought throughout the years, that ugly brown sunspot on my face won’t go away.

It’s too late for this 69-year-old truck driver who spent 28 years on the road.

This is a clear picture of what kind of damage the sun can cause to a person’s skin.

According to Dr. Glaser, unlike UVB rays which create immediate effects like blistering and burns, UVA rays cause long-term damage that is not immediately noticeable.

Many people don’t realize their skin is getting damaged from sitting near windows in cars or even at their desks at work.
